1P Cirriform Tarp - Min (SilPoly)

$195.00

Notes:
-Choose the "Make this a DW!" option above to backorder a 1P Bug Shelter with your order (more info in the "DW Option" tab below).
-The white cord loops shown at the tie-outs are now black.
-The tarp now features magnetic door ties.

For your minimal trips, the wind-shedding Cirriform provides a solid tarp in a small package. Pair it with a bivy or net-tent to create a lightweight, double-wall tent.

This is the "Min" version of the Cirriform. Compared to the standard version, the Min features a more traditional, single pointed beak at the front. While this reduces vestibule space, it provides easier setup and more range in width while also requiring one fewer stake.

The Cirriform's zipper placement allows entry from the front (standard), as well as from the side (in fair weather). Both entries styles work well with our Bug Bivy (y-zip option is best), Wind Bivy, and 1P Bug Shelter. In rainy weather, please use only the front entry to prevent water from running into the sleeping area when you open the door.

  • Tapered shape uses space efficiently.
  • Catenary curvatures for a taut, wind-shedding pitch.
  • Side-entry option for use in fair weather.
  • Front beak/door rolls completely out of the way.
  • Rear beak provides protection at the foot.
  • Durable, size #5 waterproof zipper.
  • Magnetic door ties.
  • Reflective tie-outs.
  • Made with recycled fabric.
  • Lineloc tensioners at tie-outs for easy pitch adjustment (removable).
  • UHMWPE Core guyline with reflective tracer included.

This tarp is made from recycled SilPoly. SilPoly doesn't sag when it gets wet (when temps drop) and won't retain water like SilNylon. See more of the pros and cons of SilPoly on our Materials Page.

Do I really need the longer length?

For the majority of people, we recommend the regular length option. The longer option adds 6" (~15cm) of length at the foot end of the tarp to better accommodate taller hikers and our longer inners. Please note that it will do nothing to increase headroom, and wind stability will be negatively impacted by a small amount. We usually only recommend the longer option for individuals over 6'-4", maybe 6'-3". When making a decision, please remember to factor in the loft of your sleeping bag/quilt and the length of the inner that you're using (eg. if you're using our reg. length bivy or Bug Shelter, there's no advantage gained with the longer Cirriform).

Proudly made in the USA from imported fabric.

Please note that some photos may show additional items that are not included. This product listing is for the tarp and items listed in the specifications only.

You are viewing the 'Min' version of the Cirriform. See the Standard version here.

Differences from standard version

  • No upper zipper pull & prop
  • Single pointed front beak (standard splays out to two points)
  • Shorter guylines
  • Lacks underside hangloops at the corners (these have been added back)
(These loops are located several inches up the seams from the four main corners. They provide additional options for suspending items like bivy floors, especially when the tarp is pitched low.)

Key advantages of Min. version

  • Slightly lower weight
  • Easier pitch
  • Requires fewer stakes
  • Greater flexibility in pitch widths
(the simpler beaks allows for more flexibility in how wide or narrow you can pitch the tarp)

Advantages of the Standard version

  • Larger and more usable vestibule space
  • More venting options with the upper zip pull & prop

Pitching the Cirriform Tarp

For those wanting to pair this tarp with our 1P Bug Shelter, please select the "Make this a DW!" option above. When you select this option, we will reserve a spot for you in our upcoming production of 1P Bug Shelters. Anticipated shipment is in late February / early March. Your entire order will be held until everything is ready to ship, and you won't be billed for the Bug Shelter until closer to shipment.

Please note that, as a DW system, what you receive will be a little different from purchasing both items together. Additionally, the price will be a little bit higher due to the increased labor. Please see below for a breakdown. Please also note that the weight of the Bug Shelter may vary from that currently shown. Weight fluctuations between rolls of fabric is common, and we usually update the specs to reflect the average product weight after the production run is completed. While the weight should be pretty close, the weight currently shown reflects the prior production.

  • The 1P Bug Shelter in silpoly (DCF not available) (silpoly) with rigging installed will be: $170.00
    - The Bug Shelter will come with the shockcord connections installed.
    - The guylines for the Cirriform's apexes will be attached with Fastline Clips. This allows you to quickly and easily move the lines from the tarp to the Bug Shelter if you want to pitch the Bug Shelter independently.
  • Length of the Bug Shelter will be matched with the length of the Cirriform (ie, if you choose the long Cirriform, you'll get the long Bug Shelter)
  • If you choose seam sealing for your Cirriform, an additional $5.00 will be added for sealing of the tub:
  • You may cancel all or part your order before shipment, but note that there is a 3% fee for any portion of the order that has already been charged (will be deducted from your refund).
  • Sorry, but we're not taking other requests for customization at this time.

Product Availability

Unless otherwise stated, if the item is available to add to your cart, then it is in-stock and available to ship. Please see the shipping tab for expected fulfillment times.

If the item is marked as "sold out" or "available to backorder" then please refer to the production calendar and the FAQ below for more information.

Q: What is the "Inactive Product" Category?

A: Products in the "Inactive Product" category are not expected to be available any time soon. While I intend to offer them again, they are 'on-hold' indefinitely so that we can focus attention on other products.

Q: Why is so much stuff sold out?!

A: Our capacity is very limited, and we can't make products nearly quickly enough to meet demand. We only sell what I have in-stock, and don't typically take backorders. I know this can make it hard for you to plan, but in the longer term, it should help us to grow and to serve you better in the long term. See the last question for more info about this.

Q: When can I expect the item I'm interested in to become available?

A: For most items, please refer to the production calendar at the bottom of this page. This calendar shows when I expect to work on more substantial products. For some accessory products, production may not always be scheduled in advance and availability may be unpredictable.

FYI: If you do not see the item that you are interested in, then I do not know when it may become available (I don't have a private schedule beyond what's shown!).

Q: Can I pre-order, back-order, or reserve an item?

A: I'm afraid not. Out of fairness to everyone, I don't make special arrangements to reserve products. On rare occasions, I may open a product up for back-ordering to everyone (or a new product for pre-ordering). When this happens, it's made available to order on the website. If you are signed up for the stock notification, you will receive a notice that the item is available to order.

Q: Can you let me know when the item becomes available?

A: Yes. On the product page, enter your email address in the space provided to be automatically notified when inventory becomes available. If you don't see where you can do this, please let me know; sometimes there's a fluke in the settings and the field doesn't show. Please note that the email notification could get filtered out as spam. You can try to 'whitelist' info@yamamountaingear.com to make sure the email comes through.

Q: Why do you do things this way, and what are you doing to improve the situation?

A: For years I followed the more common back-order model, basically making everything to order. This approach made it challenging to increase production, limited time available to design new products or refine existing ones, impacted my personal/outdoor time, and meant long waits to get your gear delivered. I changed my approach when I moved to Montana in 2019. Offering only what's already made allows me to work and plan more efficiently, and opens up hiring opportunities.

NOTES ON USING THE CALENDAR

- For products shown on the calendar, you can typically expect the item to be made available towards the end, or soon after the period shown on the calendar. Sometimes, however, some items may be listed earlier in the period. For example, if the calendar shows that I'm working on tapered tarps, certain sizes may become available earlier within the period with other sizes coming later.

- Items that specify "ongoing production" mean that we are continually working on these items and doing our best to maintain inventory. If the item or a particular size is sold out, you can expect it to likely become available soon.

- Please note that you can change the month shown on the calendar using the arrows at the top.
