Over the years, customers have periodically requested that we add perimeter netting to the Cirriform. Last year, we finally tried it and put out a few iterations for testing through YAMA Labs. Now it's ready for production.
To be clear, the Bug Skirt is built for a select few. It works for low to moderate bug pressure when you don't want to haul a separate inner. Pitch it with a groundsheet or our clip-in tub floor, and for trips with more aggressive bugs, it still pairs with the Y-zip Bug Bivy or 1P Bug Shelter.
The skirt adds 68g (2.4 oz), bringing the 1P tarp to 14.1 oz. Price is $235, but we're taking 5% off this first batch because the tie-out loops were added after initial construction and aren't quite as refined as they'll be on the next run. They work; they're just not as cleanly done as they'll be in future batches.
Works with
- Any groundsheet for a no-inner setup
- The Simple Tub clip-in tub floor
- Y-zip Bug Bivy or 1P Bug Shelter for higher bug pressure

FAQ
Does the skirt stay down in wind?
A breeze will pick it up off the ground. You can stake the loops sewn into the netting, place rocks on the edges, or run a cord under your sleeping pad between the loops to hold it down. The good news is, the windier it gets, the fewer mosquitoes tend to be out.
Can you sew in a floor?
That would make it a single-wall shelter, which we're developing. Simply sewing a floor into the perimeter netting isn't as straightforward as it sounds — door functionality and pole placement both get tricky.
Also: 7' x 9' flat tarps are back in stock
The 7' x 9' flat tarp is back, and we've added a 15D Membrane Silpoly option (252g) for those looking for a lighter option. It joins our standard 20D Recycled fabric (321g) and has 17 tie-outs for pitching flexibility.
