Simple Tub-floor

$45.00

This tub-floor clips in to your tarp to and tapers in width for efficiency.

To use, just clip the top corners of the tub to your tarp's corners using the included shock cord and clips. Please keep in mind that your body movements and gear can push the edges of the floor to the ground. For extra security and more side protection, we recommend 'cocooning' yourself by clipping a cord between the tub's midpoints and running it through a hang loop above (see pictures). Adjust the length of the cord using the included cord lock to lift the edges of the tub higher off the ground (width of your pad may determine extent to which you can do this). This will provide additional splash protection and help prevent you from rolling off the floor into the wet stuff.

This floor partners well with most a-frame style tarps including our Cirriform tarps, tapered tarps and rectangular tarps (if pitched a-frame style). For a more fully featured tub, please see our Tub-floor.

Made in Montana, USA from imported materials.

Dimensions:
  • Width at head: 32" | 81.3 cm
  • Width at foot: 25" | 63.5 cm
  • Length: 84" | 213.4 cm
  • Tub depth: ~3.25" | ~8.3 cm
Material:
  • 20D SilPoly
Weight of included items:
  • Tub Floor: 3.2 oz | 91.2 g
  • 6 Mitten hooks: 0.21 oz | 6g
  • 1 Mini barrel cord lock: 0.02 oz | 0.7g
  • 12ft of 1/16" Shockcord: 0.31 oz | 8.7g
  • (stuff sack not included)

Overview: You will install a length of shock cord at each corner of the tub to attach it to your tarp.

  • Pitch your tarp (err on the wider side) and lay the floor out about where you'd like it positioned.
  • Run some shock cord from a front corner to the associated corner of the tarp. The cord should be taut, but not stretched.
  • Cut two pieces of cord at that length, one for each front corner.
  • Tie a mitten hook to one end on each cord. We like to use a clinch knot.
  • Tie a loop in the other ends of the cords. You can use a simple overhand loop knot or a bowline.
  • Attach the cords to the tub's front corners using a girth hitch.
  • Repeat for the rear corners, taking a new measurement to determine the length of the cords.

  • To use, clip each corner of the floor out to your tarp's corners. If the cord is slack for your widest pitches, you should trim the cords. For narrower pitches, take up slack in the cords by doubling over the cord; ie, run the cord through the tarp's tie-out and then clip it back to the tub.

To secure the sides:

  • Start with the tarp pitched about as high as you'd ever pitch it.
  • Run a length of shock cord from one mid tie-out point on the floor to the other, passing it through an overhead hang loop (on your tarp) on the way. Cut it about 5" longer.
  • Tie a loop in the cord at its center.
  • Install a cord lock by passing the free ends of the cord through the cord lock. Position the cord lock at the knot.
  • Tie a mitten hook to each free end of the cord.

  • To use, pass one end of the cord through the overhead loop on your tarp, then clip each end to the floor's mid-points. Raise the floor's sides by cinching the cord with the cordlock.

Product Availability

Unless otherwise stated, if the item is available to add to your cart, then it is in-stock and available to ship. Please see the shipping tab for expected fulfillment times.

If the item is marked as "sold out" or "available to backorder" then please refer to the production calendar and the FAQ below for more information.

Q: Why is so much stuff sold out?!

A: As a solo-operation, my capacity is very limited, and I can't make products nearly quickly enough to meet demand. I only sell what I have in-stock, and don't typically take backorders. I know this can make it hard for you to plan, but in the longer term, it should help me to serve you better. See the last question for more info about this. (UPDATE: I've hired some help which should help improve product availability, but I still expect many items to often be sold out)

Q: When can I expect the item I'm interested in to become available?

A: For most items, please refer to the production calendar at the bottom of this page. This calendar shows when I expect to work on more substantial products. For some accessory products, production may not always be scheduled in advance and availability may be unpredictable.

FYI: If you do not see the item that you are interested in, then I do not know when it may become available (I don't have a private schedule beyond what's shown!).

Q: Can I pre-order, back-order, or reserve an item?

A: I'm afraid not. Out of fairness to everyone, I don't make special arrangements to reserve products. On rare occasions, I may open a product up for back-ordering to everyone (or a new product for pre-ordering). When this happens, it's made available to order on the website. If you are signed up for the stock notification, you will receive a notice that the item is available to order.

Q: Can you let me know when the item becomes available?

A: Yes. On the product page, enter your email address in the space provided to be automatically notified when inventory becomes available. If you don't see where you can do this, please let me know; sometimes there's a fluke in the settings and the field doesn't show. Please note that the email notification could get filtered out as spam. You can try to 'whitelist' info@yamamountaingear.com to make sure the email comes through.

Q: Why do you do things this way, and what are you doing to improve the situation?

A: For years I followed the more common back-order model, basically making everything to order. This approach made it challenging to increase production, limited time available to design new products or refine existing ones, impacted my personal/outdoor time, and meant long waits to get your gear delivered. I changed my approach when I moved to Montana in 2019. Offering only what's already made allows me to work and plan more efficiently, and makes hiring help much more feasible. I'm currently in the process of hiring, and hopefully you'll start seeing more products stay in stock a little bit longer soon.

NOTES ON USING THE CALENDAR

- For products shown on the calendar, you can typically expect the item to be made available towards the end, or soon after the period shown on the calendar. Sometimes, however, some items may be listed earlier in the period. For example, if the calendar shows that I'm working on tapered tarps, certain sizes may become available earlier within the period with other sizes coming later.

- Please note that you can change the month shown on the calendar using the arrows at the top.
