Pogies - Rain

$17.95
What are pogies?

Pogies help keep the cold bite of wind and rain off your hands while allowing easy access to your trekking poles or other items. Great for pairing with a light glove for springtime showers.

Keeping your hands perfectly dry is not the intention of our Pogies, and if you've tried rain mitts before, you've probably found that they wet out after awhile anyway. Instead, our pogies offer a simple, lightweight solution to prevent heat loss from fresh rain wicking away your body heat. The open bottoms keep clamminess down in warmer weather. They also do a good job of blocking wind, and we often find ourselves using them solely as wind mitts on brisk days. The open bottoms allow you to easily use your trekking poles or to quickly expose your hands for more intricate tasks like getting to a snack or tying a shoe.

To use, put your hand through the cinched opening. Then pull the one-handed cinch with your other hand to secure the opening around your wrist. Your trekking pole handle slips through the other opening. To expose your hands temporarily, pull the opening back over your hand.

Price is $17.95 for Slate and Olive Drab colors, $19.95 for others.

Made in the USA from imported fabric.

Weight:
  • Small / Medium: 0.9 oz | g
  • Medium / Large: 1.0 oz | g
Material:
  • 20D SilPoly
  • Seam Sealing Note: We do not find that pogies need to be seam sealed.
What size?

Pogies are made to have a loose fit and have a lot of wiggle room in terms of sizing. Choose the size that you might typically choose for gloves, erring on the smaller side if there is question in your mind.

Lead time

YAMA is moving to Montana!

I'm really excited to be relocating YAMA to the mountains of Montana! Unfortunately, this presents several unknowns and I'm not able to guarantee lead times right now. I'll also be transitioning to a model where I stop accepting backorders and only sell in-stock items. If the item you're interested in is marked as "sold out," please check back here later for an overall production schedule which I'll make available in the future. I understand that this may be frustrating, and I appreciate your patience during the transition. I think it will provide a better experience in the long term.

For orders placed after 5/7 (excluding Scratch & Dent items), expect your order to ship in about 11 - 12 weeks (current best estimate). Orders for some accessories may ship earlier (early July at the soonest), but no promises.

Scratch & Dent items are expected to ship in early July.
