$245.00
The Cirriform, available with your choice of inner

This double-wall (DW) system pairs the 1P Cirriform with your choice of the 1P Bug Shelter or Y-zip Bug Bivy.

Buying the system saves you money compared to buying the components separately. You'll also get an extra stuff sack big enough to fit both items, and we'll pre-install all the rigging for you.

NOTE: Closeout Cirriforms are available here. They had too much coating applied and are heavier than stock.

The 1P Cirriform DW - a modular double wall shelter system for hikers on the go.

The Cirriform DW is built for hikers who want to cover ground. Rooted in tarp camping but fully evolved into a non-freestanding tent, it pairs our Cirriform tarp with your choice of inner for a complete double-wall system - best pitched with trekking poles and refined over time to be efficient, reliable, and fast to set up.

  • Dual Entry
Side access for easy in-and-out; front access when the weather turns.
  • Refined Geometry
A compact footprint that makes the most of the space for tight campsites.
  • Adjustable Pitch
Stake it low for wind protection or pitch it higher for more airflow.
  • Modular System
Choose the Bug Bivy for a lighter setup or the Bug Shelter for more room.
  • Double-Wall Protection
The mesh inner keeps you from touching the outer wall, helping to mitigate condensation overnight.
  • Recycled Materials
Tent fabric, thread, and select webbing are made from recycled materials.

Refined by Experience

The Cirriform DW is shaped by years of real trail experience - from us and from thru-hikers who've tested it in wind, rain, and long miles. Every feature, from the dual-entry design and recycled Silpoly to the tapered geometry, has a purpose. The floor fabric is a bit heavier than some alternatives, but it's durable enough for most people to skip a groundsheet. It's not about chasing the lowest weight - it's about finding balance.

Dual Entry

The Cirriform has two ways in, and each serves a different purpose. The side entry is the everyday option - easy to get in and out whenever you need to. The front entry is there for when weather moves in, keeping the sleeping area covered while you come and go. Switching between them is as simple as moving a clip.

Customer Favorites

Sky View
On clear nights, roll the doors back and sleep under the stars. More than a few customers say it's their favorite part.

Quick Close
The same setup that's wide open on a clear night closes down fast when conditions change - no scrambling to put up the fly in the dark.

Stand Up
With the side door open, there's enough clearance to stand upright on the floor - a small thing that's easy to take for granted until you don't have it.

Adaptable and Modular

Both inners pair with the Cirriform tarp - the difference is in how they feel in camp.

  • Bug Bivy: The lighter option, at about 70g less than the Bug Shelter. It pitches low by default, making it a good choice for exposed sites where a low profile helps. The suspended netting doesn't drape on your face or feet, and it offers more room than most bivies - but you won't be doing much inside besides sleeping.
  • Bug Shelter: Pitches higher, giving you more room to move. If you hate waking up with fabric sloping near your face, and want a more tent-like experience, this is the better pick. It can also be pitched lower when severe weather calls for it.

Durable, Lightweight Materials

The Cirriform DW is made from durable, recycled 20D Silpoly - a lightweight fabric chosen for its reliable performance in outdoor environments.

    • Hydrostatic Head: ~1800mm
    • Outer face coating: Silicone-based
    • Inner face coating: Silicone-based

Components:

    • Zipper: YKK, Size #3

Required items (not included):

The items needed to pitch your Shelter will vary depending on your approach. See the Set up & Use tab for more info.

  • Front Pole: About 44" - 45" (~111 - 114 cm) when pairing with the Bug Shelter or 39" - 42" (~99 - 107cm) when pairing with the Bivy
  • Rear Pole: At least 31" (~79cm) when pairing with the Bug Shelter or at least 26" (~66cm) when pairing with the Bivy
  • Stakes: 6 (8 for better wind stability)
  • Rigging: If you plan to pitch the inner on its own (not under the Cirriform), you will need additional guyline or our Stand-alone rigging kit. If using tent poles or trekking poles without baskets, you may also need two of our guyline grommets (not needed with stand-alone kit). See the Set up & Use tab for more information.

Notes/FAQ:

  • Do I need a groundsheet? A groundsheet is not required, but using one will help extend the life of any floor.
  • Do I need to seal the seams? Tarp seams should be sealed using a sealer for silicone coated fabrics (we recommend Seam Grip +SIL by Gear Aid). Optional seam sealing service available. Floor seams are factory-taped and don't require sealing.

How to pitch

Start by staking out the corners of the tarp to establish your base. Raise the poles at the peaks and stake them to form the shelter's shape. Adjust and tension the lines evenly for a tight, balanced pitch. Once the outer is secure, attach the inner by clipping the corners and apexes to the tarp. When breaking camp, leave the inner and outer connected so your shelter is ready for a quick, seamless setup next time.

Product Availability

  • In most cases, items that are available to add to your cart are in-stock and ready to ship. Please refer to the shipping tab or page for expected fulfillment times.
  • Some items may be marked as "Avalable to backorder," "Made to order," and/or show a lead time. In these cases refer to the information on the product page for expected fulfillment times.
  • For items that are sold out, please refer to the production calendar and the Q & A below for more information.

Q: When can I expect the item I'm interested in to become available?

A: For most items, please refer to the production calendar at the bottom of this page. This calendar shows when we expect to work on more substantial products. For some accessory products, production may not always be scheduled in advance and availability may be unpredictable.

FYI: If you do not see the item that you are interested in, then we do not know when it may become available (We're often not scheduled far out in advance and don't have a private schedule beyond what's shown!).

Q: Can I pre-order, back-order, or reserve an item?

A: We don't typically reserve products, however there are some exceptions to this. For example, if someone orders an in-stock Cirriform and wants to also order an out-of-stock Bug Shelter for it, if the Bug Shelter is expected within a couple weeks, we'll usually make arrangements to reserve one of the Bug Shelters and hold the order so shipping may be combined.

On occasion, select products may be available to back-order or pre-order. When this happens, that status will be shown on the product page. If you're signed up for the stock notification, you will receive a notice that the item is available to back/pre-order.

Q: Can you let me know when the item becomes available?

A: Yes. On the product page, enter your email address in the space provided to be automatically notified when inventory becomes available. If you don't see where you can do this, please let me know; sometimes there's a fluke in the settings and the field doesn't show. Please note that the email notification could get filtered out as spam. You can try to 'whitelist' info@yamamountaingear.com to make sure the email comes through.

NOTES ON USING THE CALENDAR

- For products shown on the calendar, you can typically expect the item to be made available towards the end, or soon after the period shown on the calendar. Sometimes, however, some items may be listed earlier in the period. For example, if the calendar shows that I'm working on tapered tarps, certain sizes may become available earlier within the period with other sizes coming later.

- Items that specify "ongoing production" mean that we are continually working on these items and doing our best to maintain inventory. If the item or a particular size is sold out, you can expect it to likely become available soon.

- Please note that you can change the month shown on the calendar using the arrows at the top.
