We've been working hard to redesign the 1P Swiftline and are super excited to see them on the trails again this year!
Some history
The Swiftline made its debut in 2013, with initial concepts originating in 2010 or 11 (too long ago to remember).
One of the early shelters to use an offset pole structure, the Swiftline provided impressive headroom both while sitting and while lying down.
The original design had its quirks. The pitch took practice to master, and we had a challenging time sewing it.
The production challenges led us to put the shelter on hiatus in 2020 - until now!
Throwback to the V1
The original Swiftline was a hybrid-style shelter. It was a single piece, with the inner connected to the fly like a single wall, but a significant portion of the shelter still had both netting and rainfly between you and the outer world, like a double wall. It was completely asymmetric, with a flap system on the non-door side to provide great ventilation and pitching options.
What's new?
When redesigning the Swiftline, it was important to retain that something special that made the Swiftline a Swiftline. We're really happy with how much the V2 retains the essence of the original design. Here are a few updates:
- Double wall: Better condensation management.
- Rotationally symmetric: Straightforward pitching!
- Longer: The original Swiftline was long, but this one... Forward this email to all your tall friends, this one is for them :)
