Rain pogies provide a simple yet versatile solution for hiking in brisk or wet weather. They do an excellent job of taking the bite out of a chilly breeze and keeping cold rain from sapping heat from your hands.

The bottom opening is excellent for using trekking poles and lets you quickly expose your hands to tie your shoes or snap a picture.
Pair with glove liners for colder weather and to widen the range of use.
Available with an optional Alpha Direct lining for increased warmth.

Made in the USA from imported fabric.

Pogies aren't intended to keep your hands perfectly dry through extended rain, instead they help keep your hands drier and warmer by keeping fresh rain away and creating a micro climate inside.
For lined pogies, the color of the lining may differ from that shown in the photos.

Warranty

We take pride in the quality of our products. Should you, the original owner, ever have a problem with your YAMA brand product due to a defect in workmanship, please contact us to arrange a repair or replacement. The warranty does not cover damage due to accidents, normal wear and tear, or misuse, and the buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and risk of loss or damage during shipment. Repairs not covered by the warranty can usually be performed for a reasonable fee.

YAMA will do its best to address warranty repairs and replacements in a timely manner; however, be aware that YAMA may close periodically, sometimes for extended periods (we need to get out on the trail sometimes!). During these times, if you have a warranty issue, send us an email, and we'll reply as soon as we can. Reasonable efforts will be made to resolve the issue quickly, but in some cases, you will have to wait until the shop reopens.

I adore my pogies! As someone with Reynaud's, keeping my digits warm while preserving mobility is critical. These have been a great addition to my kit, and the sizing is great to wear a base layer merino glove (or even a slighlty bulkier wool glove in very cold temps) and keep everything dry & warm. I've even been grabbing them on dog walks, as the design is helpful for trekking poles or holding onto the end of a leash. As with their other products, the care is evident and the pogies seem to be holding up well!

These are ok, was hoping an AD lined one would be good for colder temps with wind here in CO above treeline but didn't really work well as I think the opening on the bottom for the pole is just too big and let's too much air in. It did not have a snap on the bottom like some of the pics for this product which I think would greatly help increase warmth.

They're like hoodies for your hands! I put a few miles in on the North Country National Scenic Trail through Pennsylvania on a cold and snowy overnight trip. I recently purchased the YAMA Pogies and have used them on four long winter hikes with temperatures ranging from -2 to 37. They worked well paired with my merino wool mid-weight gloves. All four times I used them to protect my hands from the bitter wind. My hands felt warmer with them on. I admit, at -2 my hands were somewhat cold and I wished I had the insulated Pogies. I have not used them in the rain (which is why I did not give 5 stars). The pogies are designed to be used with trekking poles and they did the job! I appreciate they are ultralight and fit in a small pocket. Pogies will be in my backpack when I hit the trails!

I wish I'd bought these years ago. Practical solution for testy weather. Sub zero windchill... No problem, driving rain, hail, snow... No Problem. They kept my hands comfortable and allowed me to keep my hand dexterity when using a compass, phone etc. Combined with a thin glove liner or my omm core Mitts and the Leki race poles they are a joy to use. Even when I did get my mitts wet by handling wet straps or clumsiness. They soon dried out in the micro climate that the pogies create when pushing on. Especially with the core Mitts that help to regulate hand and body temperature. Quick exposure of the mitts and unwanted heat was dumped

After my EXPENSIVE Zpacks rain mitts shredded up during a February AT thru hike start, I swore off rain mitts going forward. I know the quality of Yama products and am very happy with their rain Kilt and thought I would try the pogies. I bought them for winter and shoulder season when my hands get cold when raining. I have only used them once so far and was very happy with he design, the fact my hands were kept warm, and light enough to always keep on hand. They work alone and with fleece mitts.

Only one outing so far. The pogies seem to be able to provide protection from wind, rain and snow while being able to be an easy in, easy out affair. I like wearing liner gloves, but anything I layer over tends to overheat as I hike. The pogies offer protection and ventilation. What is not working for me is that when I take my hands off to carry out tasks I run the risk of losing the pogies. Twice they almost came out of the pole as I put the poles down to do something else. The wind wants to blow them away. A cinch closure at the bottom similar to the one at the wrist may keep them in place, but would reduce ventilation, which I really like about this system, so that wouldn't really solve the issue for me. So what I am thinking I want to try next time is sew a thin loop of ribbon about 1/2 to 1" to the pole opening on the pogie at the front and using a prusik with a mitten hook at the top of the pole shaft to hook onto the ribbon and keep the pogie connected to the pole, so as not to loose it in the wind when I take my hands off. Easy mod.

After having gotten my hands soaked, cold, and numb on the Wonderland trail last summer I was in the market for some sort of waterproof shell to go over my fleece liner gloves. I was assuming that meant mitts. When I saw the Pogies come out I thought "a-ha, that's just what I need." Cause, for me at least, the mitts seem like overkill. The Pogies on the otherhand (well, both actually!) are no big deal to slip on at the first drop of rain. They are absolutely perfect for a hike in Oregon in winter! I bust them out at the first drop. Behaviorally this is a very good thing, cause maybe it was just a drizzle, or maybe it was going to be a real downpour, but keeping my fleece liner gloves dry from the get-go was a smart move. (I still have yet to test them in the wind). They are easy to slip on and off. I have a good grip on my pole handles with no extra layers interfering. They feel good. And when you inevitably have to stop and futz you simply push your hands out of them, you do not have to take them off.

Using this on my AT thruhike this year. For a couple hours of rain these work great and allow one to quickly use their hands if needed. I would say that the large is a little oversized (I am 6'1" with pretty big hands, and the small would've been a better choice). While a little awkwardly shaped at first, they do the job and are quite nice in light showers once you get used to them. When it has rained for multiple days, these have been unable to keep my gloved hands dry (what will for such weather?), but they have managed to take the bite off the wind and keep my hands warmer than they would be without them. For the price, these are a solid purchase IMO.
