Simple Tub-floor

$38.40

We have retired this product to focus on our core products. We hope to bring it out of retirement someday.

The simple tub-floor clips in to your tarp and tapers in width for efficiency.

It partners well with most a-frame style tarps including our Cirriform tarps, tapered tarps and rectangular tarps (when pitched a-frame style). For a more fully featured tub, please see our Tub-floor.

To pitch it, clip the top corners of the tub to your tarp's corners using the included rigging. See the "rigging tab" for installation instructions. For additional protection, connect the cords at the midpoints through a point above and tension to cocoon yourself.

Made in the USA from imported materials.

Dimensions:
  • Width at head: 32" | 81.3 cm
  • Width at foot: 25" | 63.5 cm
  • Length: 84" | 213.4 cm
  • Tub depth: 4" | 10.2 cm
Material:

Offered in 20D Silpoly and 40D Silpoly

  • Hydrostatic Head (20D): >4500mm
  • Hydrostatic Head (40D): >2000mm
Itemized weight:
  • Tub Floor (20D Silpoly): 3.8 oz | 109g
  • Tub Floor (40D Silpoly): 5.6 oz | 158g
  • 6 Mitten hooks: 0.21 oz | 6g
  • 1 Mini barrel cord lock: 0.02 oz | 0.7g
  • 12ft of 1/16" Shockcord: 0.28 oz | 8g
  • (a stuff sack is not included)
Install the rigging
  1. Cut the shock cord to length (see recommendations below).
  2. Tie a mitten hook to the end of each cord. We like to use a clinch knot.
  3. Tie a loop in the other end of the cord (excluding the longer cord at one of the midpoints). We like like to use an overhand loop knot.
  4. Attach the cords to the tub's corners using a girth hitch (excluding the longer cord at one of the midpoints).
  5. For the longer cord that's been excluded, pass the untied end between the webbing and the floor as shown in the photo (not through the top part of the loop).
  6. Thread the cord through the cord lock, then tie a loop in the end.

Cord length recommendations

For pitching with a 1P Cirriform, see our length recommendations in the diagram above. Otherwise, use this method:

  1. Pitch your tarp (err on the wider side) and lay the floor out about where you'd like it positioned.
  2. Run some shock cord from a front corner to the associated corner of the tarp. The cord should be taut, but not stretched. Cut two cords at this length (one for each front corner).
  3. Repeat for the rear corners.
  4. Repeat for one of the midpoints.
  5. After installing the rigging and pitching the floor, determine the length for the remaining midpoint by running the cord from the midpoint, through a hang loop above, and to the cord attached to the opposite side.

Tips
  • If you find that your cords are slack, or the tub's walls not pulled taut for your widest pitches, trim your cords.
  • For narrower tarp pitches, take up slack in the cords using one of these methods:
    • Double over the cord by running it through the tarp's tie-out and then clipping it back to the tub.
    • Tie a loop along the length of your cord. Clip the mitten hook to the loop, then clip it to the tarp's tie-out (eg. to make a 30" cord have an effective length of 20", tie a loop 10" from the mitten hook).
  • To raise the sides, cinch the cords attached to the midpoints using the cordlock.

Product Availability

  • In most cases, items that are available to add to your cart are in-stock and ready to ship. Please refer to the shipping tab or page for expected fulfillment times.
  • Some items may be marked as "Avalable to backorder," "Made to order," and/or show a lead time. In these cases refer to the information on the product page for expected fulfillment times.
  • For items that are sold out, please refer to the production calendar and the Q & A below for more information.

Q: When can I expect the item I'm interested in to become available?

A: For most items, please refer to the production calendar at the bottom of this page. This calendar shows when we expect to work on more substantial products. For some accessory products, production may not always be scheduled in advance and availability may be unpredictable.

FYI: If you do not see the item that you are interested in, then we do not know when it may become available (We're often not scheduled far out in advance and don't have a private schedule beyond what's shown!).

Q: Can I pre-order, back-order, or reserve an item?

A: We don't typically reserve products, however there are some exceptions to this. For example, if someone orders an in-stock Cirriform and wants to also order an out-of-stock Bug Shelter for it, if the Bug Shelter is expected within a couple weeks, we'll usually make arrangements to reserve one of the Bug Shelters and hold the order so shipping may be combined.

On occasion, select products may be available to back-order or pre-order. When this happens, that status will be shown on the product page. If you're signed up for the stock notification, you will receive a notice that the item is available to back/pre-order.

Q: Can you let me know when the item becomes available?

A: Yes. On the product page, enter your email address in the space provided to be automatically notified when inventory becomes available. If you don't see where you can do this, please let me know; sometimes there's a fluke in the settings and the field doesn't show. Please note that the email notification could get filtered out as spam. You can try to 'whitelist' info@yamamountaingear.com to make sure the email comes through.

NOTES ON USING THE CALENDAR

- For products shown on the calendar, you can typically expect the item to be made available towards the end, or soon after the period shown on the calendar. Sometimes, however, some items may be listed earlier in the period. For example, if the calendar shows that I'm working on tapered tarps, certain sizes may become available earlier within the period with other sizes coming later.

- Items that specify "ongoing production" mean that we are continually working on these items and doing our best to maintain inventory. If the item or a particular size is sold out, you can expect it to likely become available soon.

- Please note that you can change the month shown on the calendar using the arrows at the top.
