Born of the trail
We believe the best gear is inspired by the unexpected, by every hike when the trail dealt us conditions we didn’t expect. Those are the tough days and long nights that fuel our campfire stories and drive our design process.
YAMA Mountain Gear was born from conversation amongst Pacific Crest Trail hikers in 2006. Since then, we've strived to get out on the trail as much as we can, and bring our experiences back to the design table.
We believe that a lightweight pack should be a result, not the focus. Our goal is not to make the lightest gear, but to design gear that will help you maximise your efficiency and find balance in all considerations - our friend from that 2006 hike dubbed this thinking, "comfortable minimalism."
We know how important it is to usto make the most of our 'outdoor time' and want to help you do the same.
