Double-Wall (DW) Shelter
Hikers seeking a versatile shelter system will appreciate this shelter’s two-piece design. Carry only what you need for your adventure. Use the net-tent on its own on nice nights, or just bring the tarp when insects aren’t a concern. For full protection, use the two together. The double-wall design promotes airflow to keep condensation at a minimum.
- Versatile, 2-piece design.
- Dual entry from the front or the side
- Tub-floor walls taper outward for extra elbow room
- 8" tub-floor
- Compact footprint
- Interior stash pocket and hang loop for your odds and ends.
- Lineloc tensioners at tie-outs for easy pitch adjustment (removable).
- UHMWPE Core guyline with reflective tracer included.
What you get
When you purchase the DW system, you get our 1P Cirriform Tarp and 1P Bug Shelter at a lower cost than buying the pieces individually. Additionally, the rigging to connect the inner to the fly comes pre-installed, and we provide an additional stuff sack that fits both items. You can find more details about each item in the provided links.
Dual Entry
The Cirriform DW offers entry from the front or the side. Changing the entry is as easy as moving a clip from one side of the tarp's zipper to the other. The side-entry makes getting in and out of your shelter a breeze, while the front-entry is best used when it's raining to avoid exposing the sleeping area to precipitation. On clear nights, we love leaving the side tied back for views of the stars.
Trekking pole supported
Designed to use your trekking poles for support, the Cirriform DW is best pitched with poles set to about 44" (112cm) at the front and 33" (84cm) at the rear, though longer poles can work at the rear too. (Note: shown with Bug Bivy.)
Optional pole sets are available here for those who prefer to travel without trekking poles.
Materials
The Cirriform is made from recycled 20D polyester fabric with a silicone based coating on both sides. Compared to nylon, "Silpoly" retains less water and won't sag when the temperature drops, helping to retain a taut pitch through the night.
The Bug Shelter floor is made from 20D polyester fabric with a silicone coating on the outer face and PU coating on the inner face. While this fabric comes with a small weight penalty, the PU coating increases the puncture resistance of the floor while also providing increased waterproofness and a little less slipperyness. No-see-um netting keeps out the smallest critters.
Seam Sealing
Note that the seams of both the fly and tub floor should be sealed prior to use with a sealer for silicone coated fabrics. You can do this yourself or use our sealing service. Sealer is available here, and more information is available on our seam sealing page.

Product Availability
- In most cases, items that are available to add to your cart are in-stock and ready to ship. Please refer to the shipping tab or page for expected fulfillment times.
- Some items may be marked as "Avalable to backorder," "Made to order," and/or show a lead time. In these cases refer to the information on the product page for expected fulfillment times.
- For items that are sold out, please refer to the production calendar and the Q & A below for more information.
Q: When can I expect the item I'm interested in to become available?
A: For most items, please refer to the production calendar at the bottom of this page. This calendar shows when we expect to work on more substantial products. For some accessory products, production may not always be scheduled in advance and availability may be unpredictable.
FYI: If you do not see the item that you are interested in, then we do not know when it may become available (We're often not scheduled far out in advance and don't have a private schedule beyond what's shown!).
Q: Can I pre-order, back-order, or reserve an item?
A: We don't typically reserve products, however there are some exceptions to this. For example, if someone orders an in-stock Cirriform and wants to also order an out-of-stock Bug Shelter for it, if the Bug Shelter is expected within a couple weeks, we'll usually make arrangements to reserve one of the Bug Shelters and hold the order so shipping may be combined.
On occasion, select products may be available to back-order or pre-order. When this happens, that status will be shown on the product page. If you're signed up for the stock notification, you will receive a notice that the item is available to back/pre-order.
Q: Can you let me know when the item becomes available?
A: Yes. On the product page, enter your email address in the space provided to be automatically notified when inventory becomes available. If you don't see where you can do this, please let me know; sometimes there's a fluke in the settings and the field doesn't show. Please note that the email notification could get filtered out as spam. You can try to 'whitelist' info@yamamountaingear.com to make sure the email comes through.
NOTES ON USING THE CALENDAR
- For products shown on the calendar, you can typically expect the item to be made available towards the end, or soon after the period shown on the calendar. Sometimes, however, some items may be listed earlier in the period. For example, if the calendar shows that I'm working on tapered tarps, certain sizes may become available earlier within the period with other sizes coming later.
- Items that specify "ongoing production" mean that we are continually working on these items and doing our best to maintain inventory. If the item or a particular size is sold out, you can expect it to likely become available soon.
- Please note that you can change the month shown on the calendar using the arrows at the top.
