Center Compression Straps for your Shrike or Sassafras are available in two styles and multiple lengths to help dial in your pack. Opt for shorter straps for smaller loads to avoid excess webbing dangling off your pack, and to minimize weight.

Style A: This is the default style used on the Shrike and Sassafras V4. It mounts to your pack with a g-hook on the bottom and clips to the haul loop or Style A y-strap with a plastic buckle at the top. The plastic hardware is easier to adjust than the metal g-hook on Style B. The Style A center strap may be used with the Sassafras V3 only if you also swap out the Y-strap for the Style A Y-strap), but you will not be able to clip it to the haul loop.

Style B: This is the default style used on the Sassafras V3. It mounts to your pack with a g-hook on the bottom and clips to the haul loop or Style B y-strap with an adjustable g-hook at the top. While the metal g-hooks are more durable than the plastic adjusters on Style A, they are more difficult to adjust and wear out the webbing more quickly.

Lengths:
  • ~6": Preferred option for packs in 'vest mode'. Forgo the y-strap and connect this directly to your haul loop.
  • ~12": The default strap used on the Shrike. Will fit a fully loaded Shrike when used with a y-strap.
  • ~15": A good mid-range option for the Sassafras when you're not really using the extension collar much.
  • ~24": The default strap used on the Sassafras. Will fit a maxed out Sassafras.
Compatibility:
  • -Works with the Shrike and Sassafras V3 (versions: 3.0, 3.1, 3.2) when using the matching style y-strap.
  • -Style A will not connect directly to the haul loop on the Sassafras, but will work with a Style A y-strap on a Sassafras.

Warranty

We take pride in the quality of our products. Should you, the original owner, ever have a problem with your YAMA brand product due to a defect in workmanship, please contact us to arrange a repair or replacement. The warranty does not cover damage due to accidents, normal wear and tear, or misuse, and the buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and risk of loss or damage during shipment. Repairs not covered by the warranty can usually be performed for a reasonable fee.

YAMA will do its best to address warranty repairs and replacements in a timely manner; however, be aware that YAMA may close periodically, sometimes for extended periods (we need to get out on the trail sometimes!). During these times, if you have a warranty issue, send us an email, and we'll reply as soon as we can. Reasonable efforts will be made to resolve the issue quickly, but in some cases, you will have to wait until the shop reopens.
